PORTLAND and WESTBROOK, Maine -- Dec. 7, 2007 -- KempGoldberg, a strategic marketing and communications firm, today announced that it won an award from the Maine Public Relations Council at the 17th annual Golden Arrow Awards ceremony on Dec. 5. The awards recognize the best work produced by outstanding Maine public relations and communications practitioners during the previous year.

KempGoldberg was honored with a Silver Award in the Informational/Technical Writing category for a bylined article written on behalf of Westbrook-based Disability RMS, the nation's leading provider of turnkey disability risk management products and services. The article, titled "Reaching the new disability insurance buyer requires a new strategy," drew such positive industry feedback that versions of it ultimately appeared in two separate trade publications, garnering more than 61,000 targeted media impressions, and in the company's customer newsletter.

The Maine Public Relations Council received 75 entries for this year's awards. All Maine-based communications professionals were eligible to submit work completed between September 2006 and August 2007.
