Nationally Recognized Agency Provides Public Relations Services for Center's Initiative to Boost Maine's Creative Economy

PORTLAND, Maine -- May 20, 2008 -- KG Partners, a nationally recognized advertising, public relations and interactive agency, has joined with the Maine Center for Creativity in a major initiative designed to underscore the importance of creativity as a driving economic force for Maine. The agency is providing public relations services in support of the Art All Around(TM) international competition to find the design to be painted on 16 oil tanks at Sprague Energy Corp.'s South Portland tank farm. The Maine Center for Creativity was created to stimulate the growth of creative industries and professions within the state.

"We fully support the Maine Center for Creativity and its many innovative efforts to strengthen Maine's creative economy," said David Goldberg, principal, KG Partners. "Art All Around has been a great opportunity for us to work toward that goal by deploying our experienced public relations team on an international initiative that's also very important to Maine tourism and, therefore, the health of our state and local economies."

One of Maine's largest public art projects to date, Art All Around is open to participants of all ages, backgrounds and locations. The deadline to submit design entries is June 25. For details, complete rules and entry forms, visit www.artallaround.com.

"KG Partners' creativity, talents and energy have played a vital role in the success of this project so far," said Jean Maginnis, executive director, Maine Center for Creativity. "Its efforts have already brought us tremendous publicity and an extremely successful and well-attended contest kickoff event. We look forward to more great collaboration as Art All Around continues."

Maine's creative sector now employs more than 63,000 Maine residents in wide-ranging fields including marketing, research and development, architecture and publishing. Seen as a major area of potential growth, it has been singled out by Governor John Baldacci as "a key part" of his plan for the state's economy.
